Participation:
All members of BGFed are authorized to participate in the tournament, regardless of their place of residence or nationality.
Registration is free of charge.
The tournament starts a few days after the registration deadline.
The tournament is played in a quintuple knockout format: each participant plays until they have lost five times and are eliminated, or until they win the tournament as the participant with the fewest losses.
All matches are played to 13 points, using a WBIF clock of 1 minute per point + 10 seconds per move.
The first five rounds are drawn randomly all at once.
After that, each round will be drawn according to the Swiss system.
One month is allotted for the first five rounds, which are played simultaneously, and 10 days are allotted for each subsequent individual round.
Matches are played on heroes.backgammonstudio.com.
Server nicknames will be registered and published at the time of registration.
Participants who do not yet have a Heroes account are requested to create one and provide their nickname.
Only won matches count. Neither match points nor PR have any influence on the tournament standings.
Matches will be analyzed and published using XG.
WBIF rules apply.
• Variant: a match is forfeited if an opponent is 15 minutes late without having contacted their opponent prior to the match.
Match results will be automatically reported to WBIF.
Places 1 to 3 qualify to participate in the Champions Cup.
Places 4 to 6 qualify to participate in the WBIF World Cup.
The 5 best players based on PR qualify for the online World Team Championship.
